Annual Scholarships

The following scholarships are available through the STEM Program:
• Golden Eagle Honors STEM Scholarship
• Eagle Honors STEM Scholarship
• STEM Honors Associate (Non-funded during first year)
• Upper-Division Honors STEM Scholarship

Golden Eagle Honors STEM Scholarship


• First-semester, first-year student
• Major in a STEM field
• 3.2 high school grade point average, or its equivalence
• 1,820 SAT
[Provides tuition, fees and room and board]

Eagle Honors STEM Scholarship


• First-semester, first-year student
• Major in a STEM field
• 3.0 high school grade point average
• 1,590 SAT
[Provides tuition and fees]

STEM Honors Associate (Non-funded during first year)

This award is set aside for no more than two students a year whose applications are accepted after funds have been exhausted.


• First-semester, first-year student
• Major in a STEM field
• 1,700 SAT
[Provides access to the academic, cultural, and leadership components of the Honors Program for one year. Conversion to an Eagle Scholarship after first year upon completion of 24 or more graduation credits and earning a 3.0 grade point average or higher]

Upper-Division Honors STEM Scholarship

Participation in the Upper-Division Honors Program is extended to the transfer student and the student within the University, usually at the start of his/her junior year, who has demonstrated exceptional ability and has indicated an interest in graduate study. As part of the Honors Division, the upper-division student will be led through the academic, cultural development, and leadership enrichment components of the Honors Program; however, the primary focus of the Program will be graduate-school preparation. During the junior and senior year, the Upper-Division student is required to complete three research courses. Each summer, students are encouraged to apply for paid research assistantships. Additional Honors Program requirements will include but are not limited to general program meetings, scholarly lectures, cultural and motivational activities, community service, graduate-school workshops, and attendance at graduate-school fairs. Entrance into the Upper-Division Honors Program requires that the applicant:


• Possess a 3.0 cumulative grade point average
• Has completed English Composition I and II
• Has completed at least 45 credit hours and no more than 60 credit hours
• Be a full-time student
• Major in a STEM field
[Provides $1000 each semester. It is renewed each semester the student earns a current grade point average of 3.0 and maintains a cumulative grade point average of 3.0. Each scholarship recipient must also earn at least 12 credits at the completion of each semester.]
