LONG UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH  EXPERIENCE (LURE)

The Department of Mathematics& Computer Science at Coppin State University

is hosting a National Science Foundation summer program to provide Research

Experience for Undergraduates.

 

PROGRAM:

Two students will be chosen to work with faculty members of the Mathematics and Computer Science Department. Dr. Nicholas Eugene will guide the student research.

TOPICS:

The topics to be studied will be in the areas of Algebra, Number Theory, Combinatorics, Matrix Theory and Statistical Modeling.

DATES:

June 4 - July 27, 2007.

STIPENDS:

Each student will receive a stipend of $3,500, and $500 towards room and board.  Travel money to the LURE site and to make presentations at conferences will be provided.

APPLICATIONS:

Students who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents and will be undergraduates in Fall 2007 are eligible to apply. Women and minorities are particularly encouraged to apply. Applicants should have completed a course in Pre-Calculus by May 2007.For additional information and/or application form:
